Rose is Charlie’s stalking, psychopathic neighbor. She left in last season and this season she isn’t around. Prior to that she would let herself into their house and she kept her fridge just like theirs so if she ate anything she could restock it from her home. She was likable and it wasn’t until she was gone that Charlie realized he truly needed her in his life, since she left he has been realizing he is getting older and he can’t continue this life of sleeping with everyone he meets (although he is still trying). Melanie Lynskey was born on May 16, 1977 in New Plymouth, New Zealand. She is the eldest of five siblings; she has three younger brothers and a younger sister. She is a vegetarian and attended Victoria University in Wellington in New Zealand. She has a Chihuahua-dachshund dog named Mouse. She is married to Jimmi Simpson; they were married on April 14, 2007. Before becoming an actress, Melanie had ambitions to become a film critic. She is good friends with Sam Huntington, Natasha Lyonne and one of her best friends is Emily Deschanel. Melanie was the first person to kiss Kate Winslet on screen.

Melanie debuted in the award-winning movie Heavenly Creatures with Kate Winslet in 1994. In 1995 she had a small part in The Frightners staring Michael J. Fox. In 1998 she hit the big screen with her kind-hearted part in Ever After alongside award winners Angelica Huston and Drew Barrymore. In 1999 she was plastered across the big screen in 5 movies, Measureless to Man in which she was unaccredited, Foreign Correspondents as, Detroit Rock City, But I’m a Cheerleader and The Cherry Orchard. In 2000 she was in the hit movie Coyote Ugly as the best friend of the main character played by Piper Perabo. In 2001, Melanie was in the movie Snakeskin. Then in 2002, she made it to the small screen in the TV mini series Steven King’s Rose Red.

Also inn 2002 she played Lurlynn Sweet Home Alabama, which stared Reese Witherspoon and Josh Lucas and Mousy Julie in Abandon. In 2003 she made a couple of guest appearances in The Shield, she also played in Claustrophobia and Shattered Glass and began her role on Two and a Half Men as Rose. In 2004 she stared in The Nearly Unadventurous Life of Zoe Cadwaulder and in 2005 she was in Say Uncle. In 2006 she had roles in the movies Flags of our Fathers and Park. In 2007 Melanie was in the movie Itty Bitty Titty Committee and appeared in seven episodes of Drive. Her latest appearance is in the TV mini series Comanche Moon.
