Jon Cryer
Allan Harper is the younger of the two Harper brothers. He has always been the more responsible and well behaved of the two, always having good grades and went on to become a respectful chiropractor. He got out of a disastrous marriage to Judith, a gold digger. After the divorce and Judith hitting him with alimony, Allan was forced to move in with his brother Charlie with his son Jake. So together, Allan and Charlie, though not a perfect family for Jake, lovingly raise him in the Malibu beach house. These two and a half men end up, though not always, learning to get along and grow up. John Cryer plays Allan Harper.

Jonathan Niven Cryer was born on April 16, 1965 in New York City, New York. He is the son of the Broadway actors David and Gretchen Cryer. He has a sister named Robin. John attended the Stagedoor Manor Theatre Camp and is a 1983 graduate of The Bronx High School of Science. John was married to Sarah Trigger 1999 and had a son named Charlie Austin born in 2000. He and Sarah divorced in 2004. John then announced his engagement to Lisa Joyner on The Tonight Show in January of 2007 and they were married in June of 2007.

John began his career in 1984 as Charles Cummings in the movie No Small Affair. He was in two movies in 1985 O.C. and Stiggs and Noon Wine. In 1986 he played Duckie in the hit movie Pretty in Pink, he also played in an episode of Amazing Stories. In 1987, John stared in the movie Morgan Stewart’s Coming Home, he also played in Superman IV, Dudes and Hiding Out. In 1988, John played in Rap Master Ronnie. Then is 1989 he played a small part in Penn & Teller Get Killed and started in a TV show, which he stared in, called The Famous Teddy Z, it only lasted from 1989 to 1990. John played Jim in Hot Shots alongside Charlie Sheen in 1991. In 1993, John played in the TV movie Heads and in The Waiter. 1995 to 1996, John was in another TV show called Partners, he played Bob.
Also in 1996 he played in The Pompatus of Love and an episode of The Outer Limits. In 1997, John did two TV shows Dharma and Greg (one episode) and It’s Good to be King and a movie called Plan B. In 1998 he did two movies, Went to Coney Island on a Mission from God… Be Back by Five and Holy Man, he also guest stared in several TV shows. In 2000 he guest stared in two TV show, There’s Something About Paulie and Family Guy, and played in 11 episodes of The Trouble With Normal. Other movies include Glam and The Metro Chase and John also guest stared in many more TV shows until and some after co-staring in Two and a Half Men as Allan Harper which is still currently running.

John has won two awards and has been nominated for two others. In 1998 he won the Audience Award for the movie Went to Coney Island on a Mission from God… Be Back by Five, which he shared with writer and director Rick Schenkman. In 2000 he won the Gold Award for Went to Coney Island on a Mission from God… Be Back by Five, which was also shared with Rick Schenkman. John was nominated for one Emmy in 2006 and another one in 2007 for supporting role in a television series for Two and a Half Men.
